The first thing our client needed was to have the floor under her living room supported so it wouldn't bounce so much when she had company over to dance. We took care of that by adding beams with extra support under the house as well as adding a moisture barrier while we were down there. Over the newly strengthened floor, we installed a laminate flooring to add to the old farmhouse look which extended into the two bedrooms. The existing furnace was old, innefficient, and didn't vent properly, so we suggested and then installed a beautiful, old fashioned looking gas fireplace on top of a simple hearth that we made of recycled bricks. Then we got to work on her bedroom. A very small room, it hardly accomodated both her and her large CD collection, which was a result of her occupation as a radio DJ. We opened up the ceiling above her room and made the attic into a sleeping/work area freeing up the area below to install a custom made CD shelving unit that holds over 5,000 CDs.
